Music for your Thoughts!
E-Poll e-Poll is the first research site that comes to mind, in this category, and although I have heard it can take awhile for their goodies to arrive, it comes with my recommendation. e-Poll is one survey company that allows you to take a survey when you choose to, as their polls are web based. Just head there when the mood takes you! Each survey pays 100 points. These polls aren't just about music, but various sporting, political and lifestyle issues. When you have saved only 2500 points at e-Poll, you're able to redeem them, but I personally like to save them for awhile. (The more points you earn, the more shopping choices you have.) Although Americans are able to exchange points for gift certificates valid at offline stores such as Target, Barnes and Noble, Blockbuster, and the Home Depot, international members are limited to ordering movies and music. (Well you could order a gift certificate in theory..but you'd have to fly to the States to find a store that would accept it.) The range open to all members includes a limited list of movie titles and CDs, but they do cover all tastes. You can redeem your points for Mozart, Mariah, Enya, or even (olé olé olé) Ricky Martin. International members have to pay an extra 2000 points for postage, but it doesn't take long to earn them, especially if you refer your friends to the site.
And Others: E-poll isn't alone in awarding CDs to respondents. Reward sites with research as only one component do, too. The latest to add itself to the list is MyPoints, which now lets international members redeem their points for music at Tower Records. Although it doesn't usually give away prizes of the musical variety, I also now own a CD burner thanks to a special promotion at Pinpoint Research.
Not surprisingly, some of the research sites related to the music industry, also offer musically related rewards. This is true for the following. 1. Garage Band : You receive "CD Stamps" when you review songs for them. Twenty reviews earns you one CD.
