Survey Sites and Charities

I guess in response to all the events of this month, I'd like to tell you of some of the survey sites out there that allow us to contribute our points or earnings to charities, in this article. I'd like to shift my focus from what we can earn when we take an online survey, to what we can also give from our freely come by earnings.

Some sites in the research community are enabling us to help others, in the following ways:

e-Poll

ePoll has always been one of my favorite survey panels. Although they do contact you by email when they have a survey for you to take, the best way of finding them is to go to their site. They always have about half a dozen polls there for the taking, and each is rewarded with 100 points! I've been saving my points for CDs- one of the options for international members. Americans can add gift vouchers to offline stores to the list of goodies one is able to "purchase" with them. And now, we are all eligible to give donations to the Red Cross. If you send e-Poll an email telling them how many points you'd like to donate, they'll send the Red Cross $5, for each 2500 points you offer.

myPoints

mypoints also allows us to donate our points to the Red Cross. In fact, members have donated over $350,000, in recent weeks. I know..I am not sure I see myPoints as a survey site either. I used to log in and head to their survey section in hope of finding something waiting, and that was two years ago. I've logged in just as often hoping they have added something Australians could spend their points on, for well over a year, too. Two weeks ago, they made it possible for all members- American or otherwise- to be eligible to donate points to the Red Cross. It's still possible to do so-Look for the link on their site.

cogNETive

This company has been donating to charities, in return for our opinions, since day one. The surveys are interesting..well constructed..and at the end of each, we're asked to select the charity we would like a donation to go to, on our behalf. To date, beneficiaries have included the Australian Red Cross, Community Aid Abroad, Amnesty International Australia, the RSPCA, the Anti Cancer Council, World Vision, Unicef, and the Salvation Army. You can join their panel here.
