United We Stand-In A Pumpkin Patch

Here are a few things I have heard that people are doing to attempt to keep Halloween alive: 1. Some are letting their children trick or treat, but are throwing out the candy and then buying their kids candy. 2. Some have opted for church doings and school-regulated parties. 3. Some will trick or treat at the mall. 4. And some will create a party of their own for their kids and kids that they know. 5. A Halloween video fest. (Some suggestions: It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Hocus Pocus, Halloween Town ( I & II), Under Wraps, just to name a few) I hope that maybe, this will not change Halloween forever. I hope that someday kids can go freely into the night and collect candy with out stress. Until then, we must do what we can to keep our children safe and our own stress levels low. It bums me out to think that someday, my one-year-old son might turn to me and say, "Mom, did people really do that, go out door to door and receive candy on Halloween? That sounds like fun." And I will have to reply, "It was, my son, it was." What are you doing this year for Halloween? If you have any great ways to reduce the stress of this Halloween 2001, please start a discussion and let other's know. Once again, it is true, that united we stand-in a pumpkin patch, awaiting the great pumpkin. Happy Halloween!!!!!
