Furthermore, I am a singer and this may be a little known fact, but when you sing very loudly, it is actually a release of emotion, very close to yelling. Also if you need that good cry then by all means, hook up with some tearjerker songs and let the water works begin. All of these reactions, whether crying, laughing, belting out a song, just letting the music seep into your very soul, or shutting out all distraction around you, all can help you to un-stress and possibly even change your mood. If your spirit is happy, you will be more likely to get things done. When you are bogged down by sadness and pressure, it is not very conducive to getting the things that need to be accomplished, done. It is in the release of these things which bog you down, that one can begin to function. Music is great for this! One last thing, if you think about the movies and the emotions that they provoke, then you must concur that the incidental music really helps to set the mood for what the director, writer, cast, crew, etc are attempting to convey. The incidental music can change a scene that is scary to SCARY or sad to hanky blowing, guttural sobbing SAD. For more information on music and it's effects on stress see www.mtabc.com/stress.html This is a link to an article entitled, "Music Therapy for Stress and Anxiety". Whistle a Happy Tune? These are words to live by in my book and it is my hope that your life's incidental music is peaceful and happy.
