Reiki II: An Introduction© Reverend Dina Ely
The second level of Reiki is commonly referred to as "Reiki II". At this level, practitioners are given the ability to perform emotional healing, to learn three of the four Usui Reiki sacred symbols, and to heal people from a distance.
Reiki II is believed to give the practitioner a general increase in Reiki power. Some people believe their healing power doubles, whilst others feel there's no change. It's all very subjective. However, the first symbol learned at the second level is called "Cho Ku Rei", or the Power symbol. You've probably seen it before; it looks quite common to a treble clef, with a few more spirals. Cho Ku Rei heightens the Reiki flow through the practitioner, thus making the Reiki more powerful and more effective. The symbol is sometimes called the "light switch" because it is as though you flip a switch to allow more Reiki to flow through you. At this juncture I should mention that the symbols are usually used only until the practitioner becomes familiar with the power behind the symbols. That is to say, you might visualise the Cho Ku Rei symbol until you become familiar enough with the energy and emphasis behind Cho Ku Rei, at which point you need no longer draw or visualise the symbol. You can also speak the symbol's name to call on its power. The second symbol is called "Sei Hei Ki", and it is the symbol of emotional healing. Thus, by calling upon this symbol, the practitioner can use Reiki to address mental distress, mental diseases, emotional blockage, etc. You must be careful, however, because frequently the result of sessions utilising Sei Hei Ki is that the emotions in the recipient may be brought to the surface. You could end up with a client who is weeping like a baby; recognise this is natural and vital to the healing. It is generally believed that if a client experiences an emotional cleanse during a session, the practitioner should allow this cleanse to happen without hindering it; don't try to stop him/her and don't try to psycho-analyse him/her unless you are a licensed psychologist! Sei Hei Ki is also considered a symbol of harmony, such as healing any strife within you, to bring about harmony in your spirit. The third symbol provides the practitioner with the ability to connect to a client over great distances, including even sending Reiki to the dead! It is called "Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen" and it is the symbol of distance healing. Some practitioners believe they can send Reiki into the past and the future. Since Reiki is not bound by physics, including time, it's possible that you can send it anywhere, any time! Go To Page: 1 2 |
