To Heal or Not To Heal... or... Don't Ask, Don't Heal


What happens if you do try to send Reiki to a person who doesn't want it? Most of the time, it simply will not work! I've also seen people get physically ill when trying to send someone Reiki against their will. There might also be cases where the Reiki does work, in which case you'd be violating the person's rights and their free will.

Some people might simply not want to heal. They may be at a place in their life where they aren't ready. I believe this is because they haven't learned the lesson that they are meant to learn from whatever they are going through. I've been at that place in my life myself. Would I have liked to skipped those hard lessons and healed quickly and moved on? Oh, of course! But, I wouldn't have learned the lessons that I've learned along the way, and looking back, I wouldn't trade what I've learned for anything in the world! If I had skipped those lessons, I wouldn't be the person I am today.

Are there exceptions to this rule? Sure, but in pretty rare circumstances. If someone is in a coma and you can't get their permission, there are ways to send Reiki. If someone is unconscious, perhaps then. Or, maybe you want to send Reiki to someone who is incapable of understanding it - a child, for example. What do you do in cases like this? You ask permission from their spirit or spirit guides. I also always add in the phrase, "And please allow the Reiki only if it is for this person's highest good." But please, don't make exceptions unless it is absolutely necessary!

You might ask at this point, "What about when you send out Reiki to the Universe or to whole areas or groups of people like when 9/11 happened?" I believe that in cases like these, the Reiki will only go to those who are accepting of its healing energy. I also trust that the Reiki energy knows much more than I ever will and will always do what is right - remember, Reiki does no harm.
