Am I suggesting that everyone go around hugging everyone? Well, not exactly. It's fine for someone who is comfortable and as physically affectionate as I am, but not everyone feels that way. However, affection can be shown in other ways. A warm smile, an encouraging word, doing a loving favor for a student, letting students know you really care about them, these are ways that teachers can contribute to the positive future of the world. I believe they will discover that if they show their students affection, they will get it back tenfold.
