Interviews with Tom Green and Rip Torn of "Freddy Got Fingered"Green wanted the soundtrack to resemble himself and the music he listened to. "I didn't want the movie to feel like 'okay, here's a teen comedy, so here are the latest hits,'" Green said. "I wanted the music to feel like the tone of the film. My character, like me, is a skate-boarder and the type of music used in the film is the type of music I listened to in high school." Green is pleased with the film's soundtrack, and amazed he actually got rock legend Iggy Pop to redo Sammy Davis, Jr.'s "I've gotta be me" for the film. "Iggy Pop actually recorded a song for the soundtrack, which I thought was pretty cool because I got to talk to him," Green said, showing a star-struck, human side many would think a star as huge as Green wouldn't have. As for what is next for Green, following the release of "Freddy Got Fingered," Green will co-star with Jason Lee in a new film called "Say Uncle." After shooting that, Green would like to write another script in order to work on a project as closely as he did with "Freddy Got Fingered." When asked if he felt his parents would continue to support him if he did so, Green assured his fans that they would love it. "They were a bit relieved to find out that I am not doing my reality-based show anymore," Green said. "For the past year I was working on other projects, so they knew that I wasn't gonna barge down their door. I am still doing some specials for MTV though, so they are prepared just in case."
