Interviews with the cast and crew of "Left Behind"the film is targeting the Bible-reading audience. "'Left Behind' is a film for everyone, though I am sure we will be more popular in areas heavy concentrated with believers." "We didn't forget that 'Left Behind' is a film based on two best-selling books; after all, the Bible is a best-seller," LaLonde jokes. "But we also will have a fan base from the series, the video and just word of mouth." With the 'Left Behind' series still tearing up the best-seller charts and the video being honored by the Home Entertainment Awards as best selling title of the year for an independent studio and sell-through title of the year, 'Left Behind' has a fan-base that's probably larger than any other theatrical release that is not a sequel. Both fans of the video and the book know what to expect. They know the characters and the story and aren't just buying the ticket because their favorite star is cast in the film. And because of this, even though it's not even opening weekend yet, word of mouth is already in effect. Whether or not 'Left Behind' will change the way movies are marketed in Hollywood one will just have to wait and see. For the film's success rate won't just determine how the next installment in the film series will be marketed, but how the next huge Hollywood blockbuster could be marketed as well.
