Voiced by Eric Idle, the parrot provides the comic relief in the film that the first "101 Dalmatians" severely lacked. While the bird could have been overused and become annoying, it is used just enough to be both enjoyable and funny, without at all being annoying. And unlike other films, which tend to throw in side characters to provide comic relief but that do little for the plot, the parrot also plays a key role in the rescuing of the puppies. He is both wanted in the film by the audience, and needed for the plot-- a rare combination for many comedic sidekicks.
Unlike almost every other sequel ever made, "102 Dalmatians" is that rare sequel that outshines the original story. Disney proves once again that they are the rare studio that can make a sequel better than the original story, even if the original story is a classic enjoyed by numerous generations. "102 Dalmatians" is definitely the must-see movie for families to see this holiday season. Go To Page: 1 2
