A Top Notch Resource© Sharon Hill
A great place to start, when trying to decide what Internet sites you should use to publish your recruitment ad, and where to find resumes, is the Airs Directory, http://www/airsdirectory.com. With a free membership you have access to numerous recruitment services such as the latest human resource news, the recruiters' forum, and JOBBOT, an automated daily resume search for candidates that have the qualities and skills you indicate you need, with an email to you of the results. Numerous white papers and tutorials are also free to members. There are also add-on fee-based features such as training and e-certification, etc.
The directory also offers what they claim to be "the world's largest repository of e-recruitment news and information - including articles, Web columns, research papers, product reviews, tutorials, discussions, studies and more." Their most helpful information, in my opinion, is found at http://www.airsdirectory.com/jobboards. Here you can find a wealth of job candidate resources - both general and niche recruitment sites. The various links are categorized by area and by industry. Clicking on Food and Beverage, for instance, brings you to a list of numerous sites (linked for easy access). On this page you are advised if job ads are free or paid, if they offer resumes, what market they reach and the area they service. Beverage Online> for instance, is listed. The listing indicates you pay for job ads, the site offers resumes, beverage positions are advertised and the area they cover is the United States. Food Industry Jobs.com, covering food, beverage, hospitality and travel positions, is also USA-focused, also offers resumes, and there is a charge for its job ads. Foodanddrinkjobs.com, in contrast, does not offer a resume database access but does allow you free job postings. If permanent, full time employees might not be what you seek, you can also turn to the Contract & Temporary listings. Let's say you're a Portland Oregon employer seeking a temporary employee. Click on pdax.jobs.temporary and search for the employee you seek, or post a message about your opportunity. Or you, the Florida employer, can wade through the 1500 resumes to be found in fl.jobs.resumes. While these may be far more time-consuming efforts, they are free. Another page on this site that you definitely want to take a look at is http://www.airsdirectory.com/products/to... . This page introduces a product offering a wealth of hard-to-find resumes, especially important for those slow-to-fill positions requiring very specific skills or training. The charge is hefty - $2000+, but the site is winner of the HR Executive Magazine Award for Best HR Product of 2000. Their resume search saves countless hours of research, accessing ISPs, discussion forums, college servers, news groups, etc. Why not take advantage of their free demo? Go To Page: 1
