Employer of Choice, Part 2

Sep 1, 2001 - © Sharon Hill

Their response: "We want to help you. Which day would you like?" I asked for, and was given, Mondays off. Now I was off work Monday through Wednesday. It made so much difference to my stress level and my health.

My attitude toward my job and my employer? Well, it's not easy stepping back from management and a call center job can be a monotonous experience. Our environment is collections and the people who call can be very hostile and verbally abusive. Turnover and recruitment are never-ending struggles. But if I ever don't feel like going to work, if I ever think I can't take one more customer yelling at me, I remember how wonderfully empathetic and accommodating these managers have been to me. And I go to work and give them 100%. And to those who are job-hunting I recommend my employer's firm. I tell them about how considerate and flexible they have been for me. My employer's willingness to accommodate me has brought several of my friends to their firm. I have now been there two years.
