Homestyle Chili


Ingredients

2 lbs hamburger meat
2 cans stewed tomatoes
2 cans kidney beans
2 Tbsp ground chili powder
2 Tbsp ground cumin
salt and pepper to taste

In a large frying pan or skillet, brown hamburger meat. Drain fat.

In a blender, pour entire contents of stewed tomatoes, puree until smooth.

In a large pot, add all ingredients and stir until well incorporated. On medium heat, bring just to a boil and then simmer on low for at least an hour, stirring occasionally. Note: a crockpot can be used as well.

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Serve with cornbread or corn muffins.
Top chili with cheddar cheese or a dab of sour cream.
