My little cousin Lauren loves horses. She takes riding lessons and, from what I've heard, she's pretty darn good. She was a little disappointed a couple of months ago when she was looking at this site and noticed I hadn't done anything on horses. Well, Lauren, this month's for you.
I was pleased to find a wide variety of horse-related Web sites. Sites I ran across for children are Horse Country at http://www.horse-country.com and Horsefun at http://horsefun.com. Horsefun would probably suit younger children; it's colorful, and there are games, puzzles and quizzes as well as horse facts and solutions to horse problems. Horse Country is more geared toward older children and teenagers and, besides some fun features, has practical advice on safety, fitness and other equestrian issues. The best grown-up horse site I found was Cybersteed at http://www.cybersteed.com. Geared towards thoroughbred owners, Cybersteed has a pretty broad focus, though a lot of the information is on veterinary issues. If you're looking to buy or sell horses or horse supplies, check out USHorses.com at http://www.ushorses.com or (in the United Kingdom) Equestrian and Country Classified at http://www.horsetrading.co.uk. Both have a wide variety of ad categories, and both are pretty easy to navigate. I've included these and a few other links in my new "Horses" category on this site. Until next month, may you never get saddle sore, and may your horse never get sore at you. Go To Page: 1
