Sheesh-
You would think that we could at least have a flake of the white stuff before the holiday. Both of the boys are still out looking for bugs!! Here, in Central NY, it fluxuates between downright balmy to a little cool. It is getting depressing. The sleds are out, new ropes tied on and all the snowgear is at the ready. Unfortunately we live in a completely flat area that requires dad to snowplow a makeshift mountain before the sleds can get a workout. You can imagine how far off an entire MOUNTAIN of snow looks at this point. We studied the Fall season, started on Winter, discussed how snowflakes are all different and unique (like each of us) and got the equipment ready to freeze dry flakes onto black construction paper with hairspray in order to properly study them. Everything is gathering dust as the sun shines. Tracking weather seems to be pointless. Even as close to us as Buffalo is getting enough snow to share with all the rest of the state and we get…..rain! It seems unreal. Our greenhouse business has evolved to reflect the time of year as well. We have been selling xmas trees and wreaths, etc. The funny thing is, we are doing it in our short sleeve shirts! Can you imagine? The boys are enjoying the warmer weather but really are anxious to start playing with the winter toys that have sat unused in the shed for months. How do you explain that no matter what the weather man thinks may happen, the weather turns out the way it turns out? sigh..... Nothing seems to take longer than when you are waiting with kids.....come on SNOW!!! Go To Page: 1
