Gearing up for another year of homeschooling, I am faced with actually having two kids learning...Gabriel wants to homeschool and Nathanial is so impatient to start that we have started jumping the gun and starting already.
I have also found a great little hobby shop with science kits galore, human bones kits and other interesting and pertinant odds and ends for us to use. Even a lot of art supplies that previously had to be purchased on the net are now in our backyard. How excellent is that? Since we are exposed to so many people through the store, it is common knowledge that we are a homeschooling family. Although they are used to the idea, it seems that the general consensus is that it is a whim and we will give it up because we couldn't possibly find the time to do all...work, school, etc. "You are homeschooling again?" "Aren't you ready to send them yet?" These are the kinds of attitudes that we see every day. It is sad that although people in the same breath comment on how smart the boys are, they also feel that they are so smart that it is a shame not to send them to public school... I dont really want to get into a debate for or against public schooling. I simply want to school my boys and be left alone about that decision. I wonder why it is so irritating?? hmmmmmm... thoughts?
