Waiting is the Hardest Part!

This is my first article submission from my new laptop. Now, when I say new I mean new to me. Nathanial calls it a combination of new and used...nused.

I have to say that it is much nicer to be able to just write into a Word program and not have to write everything out longhand and then find a moment to copy it back again into the computer at my desk.

I bought it online at a site called http://www.pczoo.com. This has been an ongoing problem of saving for a couple of months, then some unforeseen thing happens and my savings goes to something other than the laptop fund. Instead of finding it completely irritating, I used it as an example of persistence.

I would say that I was putting x amount of dollars into the fund and showed the boys what that looked like on paper. I would then show them the money going OUT of the fund when something happened. We also talked about which laptop would best suit my needs (not necessary to be too speedy but Pentium if possible. Had to have a modem but not a CD-rom)Really, it was a family purchase and we all gathered around the desktop to look at what was available and ooed and ahhed over the possibilities. I must say that it was very disappointing to watch the hoped for system become unavailable, as our savings was 20 dollars short and someone else had the right amount. I think we all learned lessons with this whole ordeal.

1. To purchase something takes actual money. It is hard to come by.

2. When you want something, you have to choose what is important and stick to it.

We have been saving for over a year and the total cost was less than 500 dollars but freelancing isn't the land of milk and honey, in monetary terms, although it is the most wonderful way to interact with your children while you make a buck. Now I can just do it in more places than at desk while they are asleep. This summer look for my article from festivals around the states. The boys and I can now go on the road..

Have a great week!
