Take a moment.
add some frustration
and anger
how about a sprinkle of tiredness too
Be sure to have someone say *just because*
and make certain they turn away when they do.

Now, when you feel yourself ready to burst
imagine what it would be like to be half as tall as you are
imagine not knowing how to say *enough* or *I am tired* or
*this just isnt what I want to do*

You cannot remember what it feels like to never have anything
be your choice.
You cannot remember not knowing how to say that you feel like you are at the end of your rope and you need some understanding
You also dont remember feeling that lying down on the floor and crying was the only thing that you were capable of because inside, you felt all scrambled up and it was not a nice feeling.

The temper tantrum...labeled as such by an adult. A negative conontation and considered grounds for punishment, although punishing a child for not being able to express his emotions in a more adult-like manner doesnt make sense...

Temper tantrums may be frustrating for you but they are downright scary for a child...the next time your child looses grip with his emotions, try not to loose grip with your own.
