Thought for the New Year

I would like to see the basics that always come up at the end of the year...world peace, food for us all...but I would also like to see some changes closer to home.

I would really like to see a closer to home approach for peace. If everyone one of us could show a sense of peace and oneness with just one other person, we could affect a huge number of people with very little effort. It seems daunting to think of teaching the next generation of boys to be gentle adults- but think of showing ONE young man the gentleness in one short moment and you have moved a mountain.

I dont think we should give up on the youth that appear to be violent and past *teaching*. Instead of writing them off as hopeless, try to show them the respect and kindness you would wish for them to show others. You may find that it is as hard for you as it is for them.

I would especially like to see a closer family. I would like parents to feel more responsible for raising their sons. I would like them to feel that they have the biggest role in how their children's personalities are formed.
