Trying to Shop for Boys

I cannot believe the quantity of violent toys for boys this year. May be its just me, but it seems that the greater percentage of stuff is horrid. I have recently seen ads for wrestling paraphinalia...YIKES! You can buy wrestlers(complete with face paint and gore), purchase the *entrance* to the arena and when you put your wrestler through the entrance, he spews out death threats and other atrocities to his opponent! Now I rtealize that I may come across as a little nuts about some issues but is there anyone here who finds this type of thing appropriate?

The message that we are sending our boys with these types of toys is clear, *Violence is entertainment*

There is no way these toys can be given as gifts if we are trying to teach boys to be calm, gentle people. Labeling an object a toy doesn't mean that it is good to play with. There are plenty of toys available that are fun, interesting and most of all *right* for our kids. The simple truth is that you will NOT find any on television.

This year, take the time to search for gifts that don't teach anger and violence as recreation. If you need ideas, feel free to email me for links..

Thanks, Amy atb
