The biting thang..

We went to a party Monday. It was a Barbi birthday for a 3 year ond. She was really excited to have some friends over and have a special day to herself. In fact, she was so excited that she bit Nathanial on the back...He now has a huge bruise and little sores from her teeth.

He is still refering to that party as the best one he ever went to though. He says that it was wonderful to see all the balloons and decorations there. He also said that he didnt know why the little girl bit him instead of anyone else. May be he looked like he would taste good or something. Its funny how a little kid can justify a situation..He didnt want to tell me what had happened when he came running up to me crying. I asked him where he was hurt and when I saw clearly that it was a bite mark, I asked him what happened. He kept saying that he didnt know how it got there.

Later that night, I asked Nathanial why he didnt want to tell me that the little girl bit him and he said that he didnt want her to get into trouble on her birthday. :-(

I found that one of the boys there had some disturbing actions during the party as well. He was methodically going around with a pair of scissors and cutting all the ends off the balloons. Just dropping them on the floor and going onto the next one. Then he wouldnt look anyone in the eye when he was spoken to . It just felt like he was so angry at something. It was strange to feel like a 5 yr old was so inaccesible...
