The Rainforest Habitat Rainforest SanctuaryThe Rainforest Habitat is eight acres of land that have been turned into a wildlife park. It has four different enviroments that offer a variety of over 180 species. The environments are rainforest, wetlands, woodlands and grasslands. Two of the environments have specially designed cyclone proof shade cloth and the other two are open-air exhibits. Boardwalks intertwine through the canopy and rainforest floor of the environments so that visitors can get a firsthand encounter. Built in 1988, the Habitat covers over two hectares. Located in Australia, it hosts over 1600 animals and has won many awards for Tourism. As you walk through these environments, parrots, tree frogs, even Koalas can be seen. If you look into the waters, many different varieties of fish can be found. July thru October, you can get an after dark tour tour and experience the rainforest at night. After the tour, you are led to a specially designed restaurant so that you can continue to experience the magic of the forest while eating. For breakfast, you can have your food while sitting in a specially designed area surrounded by the many birds of the forests. Anyone is invited to visit the sanctuary. They offer special features for birdwatchers, film crews, environmentalists and educational groups as well as other groups. They have specially made areas for the handicapped so that even people in wheelchairs or crutches can have the same experience in the forests. Guided tours are provided all day while special times are designated to get pictures with Koalas, Pythons, Crocodiles, and many different types of birds. They cater to special events such as conferences and school events and even weddings. Themed food stalls can be found that offer a choice of six different styles of food. This is definitely one of the best sanctuaries to visit if you have lots of time and would like to experience lots and lots of different animals and many other great events.
