RABBIT HEALTH BOOK

Another great resource for bunny lovers is a book, Rabbit Health 101: What Every Bunny’s Parent Needs to Know, written by Kathy Smith of the Missouri Chapter House Rabbit Society (http://members.aol.com/hrsoc/hrsmiss/boo... The book was inspired by Kathy’s rabbit, Smokey, who lost his life to cancer. In the process of caring for him, Kathy learned a lot about rabbit medicine. This book is written in common language that the layperson can easily understand, and is an excellent resource for all rabbit caretakers. Topics include how to prepare for emergencies; common ailments such as fleas, gastrointestinal stasis, and bacterial infections; chronic diseases such as head tilt, abscesses, and liver disease; diagnostic procedures are explained; bunny-safe drugs are reviewed; a chapter on alternative medicine suggests herbal remedies; a section on coping with loss, helpful hints on administering medication, and many great resources are all part of this book.

To order, send $15 (US) per copy to House Rabbit Society of Missouri, c/o Robin Rysavy, PO Box 345, Greenwood, MO 64034. Please include your name, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address.

CELL-SORB LITTER

Cell-Sorb Plus (http://www.cell-sorb-plus.com/advantages... is a new brand of litter made from cellulose fiber and soy-based ink. According to the manufacturer, Cell-Sorb Plus will totally eliminate ammonia odor for up to three weeks without a masking fragrance or a bedding change. It’s economical, too; you can double or triple the interval between bedding changes. Cell-Sorb PlusTM is 400% more absorbent than wood shavings. It even pulls the moisture out of and dries the feces. It can be used as an agricultural mulch, incinerated, or flushed to dispose. I have been using this litter for about a week and have no complaints. To find out more, contact the manufacturer:
