Designing a Family Quilt - Page 2

Sketch out your design. Decide on a center design, add some borders. Remember to add 1/2 inch to the width of strips you cut for squares and borders so that you have a 1/4 inch seam on both sides. Then as you cut squares you must add 1/2 inch to that measurement because you will sew a 1/4 inch seam every time you sew blocks together, right?

Send me a snapshot of your family quilt and I'll post it on these pages.

      See you next month.
