Babies, babies, Babies=QuiltsI keep a file of ideas for quilts. Filed under type, example, 30's quilts, applique patterns, baby quilts. When I need a quilt for a specific purpose I first check my files to see what is there that might be used. Sometimes I will flip through the patterns and more than one will just seem to come together. I also will go and spend quite a bit of time at the bookstore, going through the quilt books, and especially the quilt magazines. I would really like to buy one of each of the magazines, however my limited space as well as the money prevents that. I do get wonderful ideas, and get as many as I can. Another wonderful source of patterns that I find I use constantly is, Around the block byHopkinsopkins. This book has 200 patterns in 6 sizes. She also has another version out, but I haven't gotten it yet. This is my first choice of inspiration. It is so useful, because of the variety of sizes of patterns in it. I use many other sources for ideas, but many times use this one because it has the size I need. I have also had the most success with it's patterns. They are always accurate. Go ahead and make a baby quilt today. If you don't have any babies in your family there are so many needed places to donate baby quilts to. Check with your local hospitalsinternetnternet search. One of the largest projects that I know of is PLinust Linus, found at: projectlinus.org This group also has local chapters. Enjoy your quilting time, experiment and make a baby quilt today for a special baby in your life, or one for a baby that needs a quilt. Both of you will benefit. Next time I plan to share with you sinternety internet swaps. Such FunGillilandy GrandmaQuiltsandmaQuilts
