Medallion Quilts

Now a final border. Back to the scrap box, I scrounged up enough complimentary fabrics to make a row of 6 inch logs of various widths to go around the entire quilt.

You can see how this quilt just "grew." It was back to the stash and the scraps many times, but fortunately these blending colors are among my favorites and there were LOTS of scraps.

It isn't ready for the bed yet. The quilting is nearly done, and there's the binding to do. I was very fortunate to have the beige fabric on hand and all the blending scraps to complete this medallion quilt. All in all, I am pleased with the end result and happy that I didn't settle for a wall hanging. How about you? Don't you have a few special blocks you could use for a medallion?

After the summer visitors are gone, I have baby quilts to make. Yes, another great grandbaby is on the way. And then there are Christmas gifts to make, there's a graduation quilt to finish, and------- and - - -. I love it!

See you next month.
