Dog Shows and Travel

This event was huge with over 14 rings in use. Leave enough time to get to the show site and find your ring. Plan to fine-tune your grooming effort just prior to ring time. Usually the local breed club (see last article Breed Clubs and Kennel Clubs) will have cornered a spot in the grooming area. Here is a good chance to meet other fanciers of your breed.

Perhaps you would prefer to visit the out of town dog show as a spectator for your the first time. Here is a good reference on what to expect called A Beginner's Guide To Dog Shows developed by the AKC. As well, you might be interested in reviewing an earlier Suite 101 PureBred Dog article called Dog Shows: Where the dog people go.....

Regardless of how far you travel you will come home with memories of beautiful dogs, friendly exhibitors, and a better understanding of the scope of PureBred dog ownership.
