I am so happy to see how punchneedle is expanding on the internet! This week, I wanted to give you all an update
on the sources available.
First, there is Pamela Gurney's site. Pamela also has a newsletter, in the last one she talked about the types of fabric for punchneedle. She also has downloadable patterns on her site, and a new video. Also a handy little tool to get that hoop TIGHT! Pamela also has a free design to download. http://www.punchneedleembroidery.com/ This is a new thing, to be able to purchase the pattern for a design online, then download the design to your computer! Imagine! Using your photo software, you could enlarge or minimize the design to fit what/where ever you want to use it. I am really excited about this idea, I hope more people begin to do this. Pamela's designs are really elegant, they lift punchneedle embroidery up to an artform. Since Pamela is situated in Australia, this makes it easy to access her beautiful designs. Bernadine is running a special right now- http://www.bernadinesneedleart.com/ Get 50% off the video when you purchase the Russian Punch needles. These are the needles I use. I love them. Bernadine also sells crazy quilt items- ask her about them! Some people have had a problem with learning to punch, and videos are THE way to go. I have not seen Bernadine's video, but I am sure it is top quality, just as all her products are. Bernadine is a top-notch puncher, years of experience. Terrie Ladue has Punch Impressions- she has supplies and the Ultra Punch needle, also many designs and instructions on using fabric paints with the punchwork. She also has a free design on the site every month. http://hometown.aol.com/terriel/needlecr... Terrie also has an email newsletter, which is really informative. HomeSpun Peddlar is selling the rest of their patterns, and then they won't have anymore. They have some cute folk art things- http://www.homespun-peddler.com/welcome.... if you go to the pattern list, you will see the punchneedle items. This is the first time I have seen actual punchneedle patterns of this type. Betty's Pretty Punch has fabric, fluff brushes, yarns, interfacing material and transfer pens. http://www.bettysprettypunch.com/INDEX.H... She has the Pretty Punch needle, which has the dial-a-loop. There is also a mailing list you can join. There is also Bright Star Promotions- http://www.bright-star-promotions.com/do... The 14 page books have illustrations, photos, and concise instructions which demonstrate punch-needle techniques of miniature rug making. They have a FAQ page, and a free design. I hope that these sites help you find things you need. I am not affliated with anyone, I am just an 'information person'. The purpose of this site is to gather information Go To Page: 1 2
