Pamela has some new patterns! Her patterns come with the design printed on the ground fabric. All you have to do is put the printed fabric in your hoop, tighten it up, load up your favorite punchneedle and go to it! I have been on pins and needles (ha, ha) waiting to see these Christmas Ornaments- well, here they are! For a larger picture of the Ornaments, go here- http://www.angelfire.com/ct2/punchneedle/ Go to the Suite101 area, and click on CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS. I used my own threads for the ornaments. I used DMC for the santas, and for the letters in 'LOVE' I used DMC metallic for the gold in the LOVE one! Yes!! It did work! I am thinking now that it might work better if I actually took all the threads apart, then put them back together for the gold background in the LOVE one. I used 6 strands of ALL the threads I used. Pamela's instructions tell you what number to set your needle too if you have the Ultra Punch, and what size rubber gauge to use if you have the Oglochky needles. I use UltraPunch, only use the Russian (Iglochky) needles if I want to use one strand of thread, but now that we have the new needles for the UP that handle 1 strand, I can use the UP needle. It is a lot easier for me to hold, but I do adore those little Russian Punch Needles, they are so cute. I backed my ornaments with felt- I glued the hoop to the back of the ornament, then glued the felt on top. These ornaments would make the cutest little pins to give as gifts to teachers, or quilt guild presidents, or even secret pals. You could cut a piece of lightweight cardboard, using the design as a pattern before you did the punchwork. Then you could cut a piece of fabric to cover it, folding the fabric over the edges and gluing it down. Then you could glue that to the back of the ornament, to cover your punchwork. Add a little pin back that you can find anywhere, Walmart, JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby, Michael's Crafts, and there you go! Using all 3 Santa faces, you could make an entire desk set for someone- buy a plain desk set, do the ornaments, then glue them to the desk set! What a special gift! Along with the Santa and the LOVE heart I have done,
