So the time is right. It's not only a fresh year but a fresh millennium. Serendipitously, I brought along on my vacation a book that couldn't have emphasized the point any more clearly had it proceeded to tattoo it on my forehead: WRITE! (The book, by the way, is A Writer's Tale by Richard Laymon. Thoroughly inspirational and motivating!)

So end of the little pep talk. On with the writing.

Next article, we'll get into the nuts and bolts of preparing our manuscripts for submission.
