There was an emergency recall released today for people who take the medication Etodolac (Lodine®) Capsules 300 mg. This is a common medication used for pain relief in arthritis and some other conditions. Please pass this information to anyone who might be affected.
The issue is that the inflammatory medication has been contaminated with medications used for blood pressure and other heart problems. Testing showed that some capsules from lot number 9991052 may contain a variable and unknown quantity of acebutolol hydrochloride, a beta blocker. According to the company's press release, in rare cases, cause serious or life-threatening side effects in patients with underlying heart conditions.
