University of the Apes Good news for State College / University Park residents. Star of Planet of the Apes and Soylent Green Charlton Heston is coming to Penn State University to Speak on September 21 at 8pm in Eisenhower Auditorium. Oh, apparently Heston is also the president of the NRA. Heston is another person participating in Penn State's "Distinguished Speaker Series," which in the past has brought other major figures such as Jesse Jackson to Penn State. Tickets are free to University students as long as you have your student ID. Tickets are available to students starting Monday September 13. Tickets then become avaiable to Penn State staff on September 14, and finally, to the general public on September 15. After you get your ticket, you still have about a week to perfect your "Get your stinking paws off me, you damn dirty ape!" I know I'll be practicing. Other Junk Entertainment Weekly doesn't like Stir of Echoes much: A low "C", just after they dismiss critic Manohla Dargis for generally scoring films too low? Hm. (http://www.reel.com/reel.asp?node=movien... Jeffrey Wells is reporting that Scorcese's next movie might be a huge flop:
Joe Bob's Summer School is now officially over, and it's time for you to take the final exam.
It's a good thing they at least temporarily got rid of the Monstervision name while they
were showing The Great Outdoors, National Lampoon's European Vacation, The Blues Brothers,
Aces: Iron Eagle III, Hairspray, and American Graffiti. Arguably, Willy Wonka
is a monster, Clint Howard plays a great psycho in Ice Cream Man, and Mars Attacks
slams the the E. T. conception of aliens. One of the aliens says "Come back, we mean you
know harm" as he shoots at people. We won't even get into Joe Bob showing Look Who's Talking,
Too, the only movie I've seen get 0 stars. Anyway, go take the exam, now: Go To Page: 1
