As if you already didn't know, but Blair Witch is set to be released on video October 22, just in time for Halloween. Could there be a better time? Entertainment Weekly has taken note of the all the Blair Witch spoofs that have shown up on the television, put out by massive media conglomerates clearly envious of the movie's success. There was one for Detroit Rock City, then one on NBC for one of its new fall shows, and the latest addition is MTV's starring Janeane Garofalo, Chris Rock, and Method Man(?). However, MTV's latest Blair spoof is clearly not Blair-like. All three characters are in front of the camera and no one is holding the camera. Has to be one of the union guys. Undoubtedly, many more spoof will be coming to your television soon. In another EW article, horror nut Chris Nashawaty talks about the recent revival in the traditional kind of horror. He differentiates between Kevin Williamson horror movies, and Tobe Hopper / Roman Polanski horror. The only major quip I have with his article is his elation at not seeing Sarah Michelle Gellar on the screen again. Personally, I don't mind Gellar. She's not exactly ugly, and Buffy is one of the best currently running TV shows. Although honestly, the Buffy star who has shown the most talent so far is probably Alyson Hannigan. http://www.pathfinder.com/ew/daily/0,251... EW is also allowing people to vote in its "Greatest Movies" poll. Now, the actors and movies that usually win are not the ones that I feel should win, so allow me to offer my selections, which I genuinely feel deserve the slots. Maybe, if you agree, you can vote for them too and help them win:): Best classic actor - Orson Welles Best classic actress - Marilyn Monroe
Best contemporary actor - Robert DeNiro
Best contemporary actress - Kathy Bates
Best director of all time - Martin Scorsese
Best action hero - Keanu Reeves in Speed.
Best movie villain or villainess - Dennis Hopper in Blue Velvet
