Tidbits

Artisan Entertainment, the nice people who brought us all The Blair Witch Project is reportedly "close" to purchasing a script called Allison, which will be a vehicle for bodacious Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar. The story is described as "Hitchcockian", about a girl who tries to get out of debt "only to fall into 'a set of terrifying circumstances.'"

John Woo, who is currently directing Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible 2, will also direct a movie called Dirty 30. According to Hollywood Reporter, the thriller is about an Irish policeman who returns to the force after his estranged brother, the member of an Irish mafia, kills a rookie policeman. You might remember John Woo's direction from such films as the literal Face Off.

For you lovers of Steve Gutenberg and dance scenes in a club known as the Blue Oyster, fret no longer for Police Academy: Mission to Moscow no longer seems to be the end of the Police Academy franchise. During an appearance on Conan O'Brien Monday, P.A. star Steve Gutenberg said that ANOTHER movie is in the works. According to the Internet Movie Database, Police Academy 2000 would be the eighth Police Academy movies. But that sound effects guy never gets old, does he?

Farscape creator Rockne O'Bannon has said that if the great Sci-fi channel series can "show its longevity", a Farscape movie could be done. Crusade disappointed me so much, but with Farscape, there are some new E.T.'s in town worth watching..

Good news for us State College residents. According the movies page on statecollege.com, The Blair Witch Project is still showing at The Movies at 407 East Beaver Avenue. Now that I've returned to school here at Penn State, I'll try to bring in reviews of more current movies since I live only blocks away from most of the theaters.

Returning to college means moving and because I had to move all my junk into a new apartment and am still getting settled, this article will be more spare than the others. I apoligize for the lack of material.
