It would be great to look into the future. But how about
if you could control the future? Well, I have good news
for you. It is possible to do this, at least to some
extent.
Your mind is like a computer. What you put into it will determine what happens to you. Put in the wrong information, and you're not going to get what you had planned. Garbage in. Garbage out. That goes for the mind as well as the computer. Way back in 1870, Emile Coue promoted this idea with his statement: "Every day in every way, I am getting better and better." When making affirmations, never use "never." In other words, don't use negatives in your affirmations. Instead of "I will never smoke another cigarette," say, "I am a nonsmoker." Make your imagination a part of your affirmations. This is where creative visualization comes into the picture. Choose what you want, write it down as an affirmation, repeat it to yourself and/or aloud over and over, and finally, see it. Imagine it is already yours. The book Creative Visualization, by Shakti Gawain lists the basics. Since the book was published, he has received thousands of letters telling him how much the book has helped. You create your own reality. No matter what is now in your life, whether it's good or bad, at some time, some how, you created it first in your mind. If it's good, then you have been using your mind to it's greatest potential. If it's not what you want, if your life, to use a current expression, "sucks," then you've been using negative programming, and it's time to change the program. Relationships, health, career, whatever your heart desires, you can create your own "Happily Ever After." Decide what you want. Write it down using only positive terms, read it over and over. Put little cards in you wallet, stick them to your mirror, your fridge, your computer screen, anywhere where they'll be clearly visual.
