Should web designers web sites be good?

Finally, NOT EVERYONE NEEDS A WEB SITE! Don't be told differently. If you paint houses in Wisconsin, why do you need a web site that has a global reach? You don't!

So, yes, as a consumer, designer's sites should be the best example of work they can muster. If a site isn't up to standard, don't waste your money just because you can't afford a better designer. Either save your money until you can afford a good designer(and not just a coder), reconsider putting a web site up at all, or learn to do it yourself(it is not hard). After all, how do you want your business or yourself viewed? Web designers-optimize, downsize, realize. Not evryone surfing the web is using a 56k modem or owns an MMX processor. Design for everyone!

For the sake of decency, I will not include URL's to bad sites, but I have included some URL's I think can give food for thought.
