First of all Fusion is not a html editor, but a html generator. Okay, let's be honest - if someone never worked with web pages/sites before, then even NetObjects Fusion has a learning curve. Still this learning curve is in the land of the visual - in the land of "what you see is what you get". Please be aware of one part before starting to develop sites with Fusion, and this is to set the configuration to work with older browsers. This includes especially Netscape up to version 4.75 which have difficulties to show the finished site correctly if one forget to configure Fusion for this part. Thanks to Car, who made me remember when I forgot to do this myself (-: Secondly the price. If one download the latest version of NetObjects Fusion (version 5), you get it for a hundred US dollars (there is even a special offer lasting out February 2001, giving you 50 dollars rebate on this price). For a year I have tried out Fusion 4, and when I tried out version five I have to admit it has developed. Still - and this is important - still the version 4 is well up and kicking. So if you are not using Fusion to it's limits, then version 4 will last a long time. I stress this of two reasons, firstly to prove that this is not a tool who you "have to" upgrade for every version to be able to work. Secondly since NetObject is selling version 4 - when downloaded, for a fixed price of 50 US dollars. Compare that with the previous packaged price for same editor of a 300 US dollars, then Fusion have become affordable for all who want to invest in a shareware html tool (DreamWeaver is still USD 269.00). The "minus" for Fusion is that you can't work directly inside the code (but to a certain degree, "around" the code), but again - this is not a html editor but a html generator. So let me again repeat, if you want a html editor, my recommendation is to go for SpiderWriter or HomeSite (be aware that SpiderWriter have a more economical upgrade policy!). If you on the other side need a html generator - then I have no better recommendation than to get NetObjects Fusion. Fusion gives you first of all what is
maybe the most unique feature of this html generator, and that's the Site view
