I'm back!

Sorry that there has not been a new article in the last couple of months. I just have had a lot of my plate this semester here at WSU and because of the endless cycle of quizzes, homework and tests, plus a lot of crap in my personal life, I was unable to pound out an article. Plus I have been out of the loop in the indy scene lately and have been unable to think of something write about. So this month I have a few random thoughts about stuff that has been happening in the larger world of wrestling. Next month I promise a brand new article about the state of independent wrestling heading into the new millenium.

Russo/Ferrera to WCW! Who cares!?

Do I think that Russo and Ferrera being gone from the WWF will hurt Vince and Co? Hell no! It doesn't take two people to make a mulit-billion dollar company successful. Yes they may have been part of the winning formula but they weren't the sole cause of it. Vince has shown that he is part of that formula as well as all the wrestlers, production crew and the many people backstage and in the front offices of the WWF. Yes there departing will help WCW. WCW needs all the help they can get and right now, I think that they are as low as they will ever go and the only direction, hopefully, that they can go is up. With Bischoff finally gone, which is only good for WCW, I think that we will soon see a resurgence of the Monday Night Wars, which have ceased to be a war for quite some time now.

DX reformation

I can honestly say that I am thrilled to see DX back together again. I think it was a good kick in the pants for a currently heel-less WWF. They were seriously lacking good heels and now with DX firmly in the heel spot, I think that it brings a great foil to the face team of Kane, Rock, Austin and Shane McMahon, who I eagerly look forward to seeing wrestle each and every time he puts on his Adidas pants. I think it creates a whole lot of new fueds that we may have seen before but not in this light, which just makes things in the WWF even more interesting. Survivor Series looks to be shaping up greatly and for the first time in a long time I am really anticipating this next PPV.
