There is not much that I can say about Owen Hart. He was not one of my favorite wrestlers, nor did I despise him. But I do have this to say, everytime I saw Owen wrestle, I came away feeling like I had seen a great match. He was the consumate wrestler and performer. He loved performing for the crowd and he loved pleasing the fans.
At a time when the WWF is being chastised for going on with the PPV, I have to say that I agree with what they did. They did it because that is what Owen would have wanted. To all the critics, I want to ask them, "Why can't you understand that this is what Owen did for a living?" He loved this business, he loved pro-wrestling. He would have wanted the show to go on, because that is the type of man Owen was. The wrestlers continued and ultimately wrestled on Raw, in tribute of Owen and in celebration of his life and career. The sharpshooter done by Jarrett, the People's Elbow by the Rock...they were all for Owen. Because that is what Owen loved so much. His family came first, and wrestling second.
I wish Owen's wife and his children all the best of luck in the world. And I hope that Jarrett keeps his promise to show Owen's kids exactly how fantastic a person their father was. God bless you Owen...and Godspeed.
