Federation WarsAll wrestling federations have wars. The big Two have them and the small indys do as well. But is this necessarily good for the sport? I think that in some respects it is good for the sport of pro-wrestling. It keeps competition high, which in turn means a better product for all pro-wrestling fans. As long as the war doesn't escalate into full scale bashing on each feds respective shows. A little bashing every now and again can be humorous. And for the most part, most feds have kept a reasonable level of bashing on their shows. But sometimes that bashing can get out of hand. Some of the smaller feds in the NWA, recently, have taken to bashing each other on their respective messageboards. The fans, the wrestlers and even the promoters have gotten into the act. For right now, the bashing has stayed on their boards. But what if it gets out of hand? If it culiminates into an interfederation card, than that is great for the fans. But what happens if the promoters can't agree on who wins and who does the J-O-B? Then the card stinks and everyone walks away pissed off. Egos are a mainstay in pro-wrestling, unfortunately. And those egos are what keeps interfederation cards from happening. All fans ever get is empty challenges, empty threats and sometimes lousy parodys of the competition. And in the event that an interfederation card does get drawn up and actually goes down, it usually ends up being lousy because at some point during the show, egos arise and everything falls apart. Maybe someday pro-wrestling will evolve enough to the point where egos are eliminated. But until then, fans will have to be content to drawing up fantasy fed vs fed cards. Now I am gonna ask you, my readers, to help me out here. I want to see who you guys want to see compete against each other. Basically draw up your own fantasy card. It can be from any fed, past or present. Any wrestler past or present. And any wrestler who currently wrestles in the Big Two, that you would like to use, please find out what indy fed he learned his trade in and put him in that fed. So go to it and make me proud! See you next month, when I will post the best fantasy bookings!
