Comeunity.com provides a wealth of information to parents of children born prematurely. The "Premature Child" portion of the site offers book reviews, interviews with authors of books on prematurity, updates on preemie research, articles on every aspect of parenting a preemie, and myriad links to other sites. It is a great starting point for anyone who is interested in premature babies.

The articles are divided into four sections: Celebrating Your Preemie, Parenting Your Preemie, Development of Your Preemie, and Advocating for Your Preemie. The first section consists of artwork, poetry and essays by and about preemies. It also offers space for you to share your preemie's successes. The second section contains articles pertaining to parenting, such as choosing a school for your child, growth issues, and other helpful advice. The next section focuses on development issues and offers special sections for health problems common in preemies, such as asthma, cerebral palsy, growth and feeding difficulties and reflux. The final part discusses how parents can help their children achieve their goals and dreams.

The site also gives an extensive list of links about all facets of prematurity. There are many excellent Web sites on premature birth and this is truly one of them. We suggest it as a first stop. Use the links to travel to other Web sites that provide additional information.

Before leaving, however, you may want to read "Why Premature Child? Our Personal Journey," an essay by Rick and Allison Martin, creators of Premature Child. You will find the link in the bottom left-hand corner.
