The Power of Positive Thought: Part 2 - Becoming Accountable

In my previous article, I asked that we consider shifting our perspective on a challenging situation to see how all things may be working to support our dreams, despite the superficial appearance that it may not be.

Through out many cultures, philosophies and religions there is an understanding that the world IS as we individually interpret it to be. We are each gifted with our own perspective, created through our individual experiences. If we don't like what we see, the only way to change what we see, is to change the way we look at it. Recognizing that we are accountable for our viewpoint of the world, is increasing awareness of responsibility and empowering self.

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." Matthew 7:7

If we set out to prove this statement to be true, it will surely be revealed as such. This is the power of positive thinking.

I spend a great deal of time, chatting on a message board that is devoted to women who chart their fertility signs with the desire to become pregnant. Though there are many celebrations with the announcement of pregnancy, there are many more disappointments at the end of each cycle. Occasionally when difficult feelings are vented, it is confessed by some that there is anger or frustration with prayers for a baby apparently not being answered. Some even question if God is punishing them, or questioning if they are in some way undeserving of a child.

Ask and you shall receive. It is a powerful statement, that does not simply apply to specific thoughts or requests of Spirit. It applies to ALL of them, to every request, and every thought that you have.

Consider that every thought we have is an on-going dialogue with Spirit, constantly revealing our desire for experience. Spirit does not question, or evaluate our requests, it simply responds to whatever we ask for. Whenever something we ask for does not appear to manifest, it is frequently not occurring simply because we have neutralized our original request with another request that is counter productive. The problem lies in the fact that we are barely aware of how we use our mind, and what exactly it is we are asking for. If our worst fears manifest it is more than likely because we have used our mind to indulge in fearful fantasy.
