December 20, 2001, just as my trusty monitor predicted I ovulated. With the holidays came nasty colds that my entire family took. We spent the holidays sneezing and shivering and coughing. Christmas day was to be spent at the kids grandparents instead we found ourselves at home, minus the Christmas turkey. It was Christmas night that I noticed a very strange cramping sensation that lasted a good hour. It was the day after that I had a sudden and intense craving for a burger and fries.
On 11 days past ovulation I took an Aimstick Pregnancy Test. A faint line showed up within five minutes and I knew that all logic had flown out the door! Now, 5 pregnancy tests later and numerous doctor visits I'm happily pregnant with my fourth baby. I have to wean my 3rd baby from the breast due to the fact that I had preterm labor with her. I've had my bout with morning sickness and now am happily nestled into my 2nd trimester. The kids are very excited about a new baby brother or sister, and my husband is equally happy. As for me, I'm in awe. In awe that my body overcame the infertility caused by breastfeeding and a luteal phase defect. And oh, by the way, baby number four is due in early September.
