Fertility Boosters

Sometimes Mother Nature will cooperate and you will get pregnant the month you start trying. However, for a vast number of women this isn’t the case. Sometimes Mother Nature needs a little boost in the area of fertility. This article is intended for “simple” help in obtaining pregnancy. If you have a major infertility problem, then you are best served to see your physician for help. If you are fairly confident that you are healthy and just need a little “boost” – then this is for you.

Vitamins, herbs and even over-the-counter remedies will go a long way in helping to correct minor fertility problems. This is a list I have personally tried or I know of women who have successfully tried these remedies.

1. Vitamin B6 – This is an excellent fertility booster. It helps to lengthen the luteal phase defect if taken daily. I always took at least 50 mg a day. Not only will it lengthen the luteal phase it will help to alleviate PMS, and when pregnancy occurs it will help to alleviate morning sickness as well. Vitamin B6 is safe to take the entire cycle and throughout pregnancy.

2. Progesterone Cream – I always use Emerita Natural Pro-Gest Cream. This cream is intended for menopausal women, however it also aids in lengthening the luteal phase. Use the cream from ovulation to menstruation twice a day. Use ¼ to ½ teaspoon on the inner arms, thighs, chest, neck, face, tummy and hands – alternating the locations each time.

3. Herbs – See my article titled Fertility Enhancing Herbs http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/prec... for the full list of the herbs that help to boost fertility.

4. Water – Drinking 8 cups of water a day helps to clean out the body to prepare it for pregnancy as well as helping to increase the fertile quality cervical fluid.

5. Guaifenesin – Otherwise known as Robitussin. This helps to loosen mucus in the body – therefore it helps to loosen up the fertile quality cervical fluid. Take guaifenesin from menstruation to ovulation for maximum benefit.

6. Baby aspirin – or “low-dose” aspirin (81 mg) helps to lower the chances of certain types of miscarriages. Take the aspirin all cycle – just one tablet a day.

7. Vitex – I feel this herb is worthy of mentioning. Also known as ChasteTree Berry, Vitex is a hormone regulator and many women swear by its effects. Follow the instructions on the bottle for dosing information.

8. Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) – This is an essential fatty acid that is not only good for the brain but an excellent aid in producing fertile quality cervical fluid. Take EPO from menstruation to ovulation and then replace it with flaxseed oil from ovulation to menstruation.
