My Story: Success Details Continued

I decided to go ahead and take a home pregnancy test and before I got out of bed my husband came into our room and with him the smell of fresh baked biscuits. I nearly vomited! Unfortunately my husband had to leave for work before I could test. I used a pregnancy test I had bought from www.by-his-mercies.com. It was very sensitive - detecting 25 mIU/hCG. hCG is human Chorionic Gonadotropin - the hormone produced during pregnancy. Since my menstrual cycle wasn’t due until March 5 and this was only February 29 - I wasn’t even late - I wanted to use a super sensitive test. And by the time the 5 minutes were up I had a positive pregnancy test. I phoned my husband with the good news and then phoned everyone else I knew. I realize that a lot of women wait till the 3rd or 4th month to start telling folks - but I’m a big mouth and couldn’t wait to share the news!

Since then I have taken 2 more tests - different brands just to confirm. My first ob’s appointment is set for the 29th of this month. My due date is November 10, 2000 and I’m looking forward to being pregnant and to seeing my children’s reaction as I grow larger.

I always tell people that pregnancies will happen when you quit focusing on the mechanics so much. I realize that some women need help and have to focus on it somewhat - but I fully believe that in letting go allows it to actually happen.

Next week I plan on doing an article on home pregnancy tests.
