How's your QI?There's something about the challenge of IQ tests that can prove irresistible. And when you find a site where you can test your IQ in English as well as your QI in Portuguese, the challenge is doubly difficult to resist. Do you find puzzles irresistible? Do you enjoy brain-teasers? Or quizzes about your true feelings or emotional character? Do you concentrate obsessively on solving puzzles? Are you an avid reader? Do you find yourself from time to time at odds with authority? These are only a few of the questions quoted from an Institute of Advanced Development survey on QI, InteligĂȘncia e Testes , a comprehensive site of puzzles, QI articles and tests for not only testing but training your IQ development. Carlos Paula Simoes has a wealth of interesting tests, articles, competitions and information on this site. Don't worry if your Portuguese is a little weak. Just keep scrolling down gently and patiently and you will get some English clues and links. We often hear about gifted children. Find the other questions in the introduction to the above page. If you answer yes to at least 75% of them, there is a fair chance that you are that little-vaunted creature - a gifted adult. Have you tested your QI recently? QI , or quociente de inteligĂȘncia, is reversed into English as IQ. But as it is now claimed that the QI only proves how good you are at QI tests, many vocational and entrance tests now include or consist solely of QE problems. The QE testing quociente de inteligĂȘncia emocional is said to reveal your ability to cope with social relationships, to show whether you are a star or team player, and to help employers assess how suitable you might be for any particular career or job. Th QE test (um teste in Portuguese leading to the unforgettable testes as a plural) on this site is also reproduced in English. Although there are some variations, a comparison of the two versions would certainly help a beginner Portuguese student to get a feel for the new vocabulary and structures needed to translate the questions. You are asked to help a Portuguese student project by answering the questions absolutely honestly. If you are tackling the Portuguese rather than the English test you may be relieved to know that all you need to do is check the appropriate multi-choice answer which most nearly reflects your own opinion. If you can not wait for the promised evaluation to arrive, you can find out what the answers reveal about your potential by clicking on a results page - AFTER, of course, you have agonised to complete the questions and send in the results.
