skull-crushing. I used to work in a mental hospital...And it's one of the scariest things to
happen in this country, because a lot of them weren't just harmless... It was hailing
violently when we recorded this. It seemed to add to the mood."
"No Surprises," slower in pace than the song before, again shows what good songs Radiohead can write. The "child-like guitar sound set the mood for the whole album. We were going for that 'Pet Sounds' vibe." "Lucky," recorded for War Child, is an appropriately moody song and equally captivating. Next, and lastly, is "The Tourist" which is about "watching all these American tourists being wheeled around, frantically trying to see everything in ten minutes." Another wonderfully haunting bit of music and an appropriate note on which to finish off the album. OK Computer requires tremendous patience and is one of those albums you have to listen to a lot. It has some tremendously intelligent songs that buzz around your head hours after the album has ended. The only negative is that three of the songs - "Airbag," "Subterranean Homesick Alien" and "Climbing Up the Walls" - pale in comparison to others and tarnish an otherwise flawless collection of songs. RATING: 8.5/10 P.S If you want to check out what Radiohead are about, look at their official web site. A very revealing insight into their mentality. Go To Page: 1 2
