Review of Pearl Jam's 'Vs'

Rather than being their usual coherent selves Pearl Jam disappear into jamming mode, which would no doubt work well in the frenzied atmosphere at one of their concerts, but which doesn't seem really appropriate on an album.

Also it must be said that a couple of the songs are a little mundane, and here "Leash" and "Indifferent" stick out. In spite of all this, and again remembering that it is not as good as Ten, Vs is still very enjoyable. Most of the songs are good (and catchy) and the band is extremely capable. There could be a little too much guitar for some, but for those who like Pearl Jam's sound it is probably an album they would enjoy.
