Review of Eric Clapton's 'Pilgrim'because they clearly do. But that is not enough and there are also many areas where the album is not that good. The production is somewhat lacking, for example, with the beat and length of the songs being especially annoying. Also he massacres a Bob Dylan song when he covers "Born in Time" (from Under the Red Sky). And that is why some people may wish for the earlier, heavier Clapton. Of course, the tone of Pilgrim does not allow this, although it should be said that there are some moments where Clapton lets himself go, albeit briefly. This album may appeal to people who have followed Clapton's career since the beginning, as they may feel more sympathetic and be more responsive to the creative manner in which he has responded. In general, though, it's not such a good album. RATING: 3/10
