Joan Osborne - Righteous Love

Joan Osborne's debut CD Relish was a blessing and a curse. A blessing because it sold millions of copies and launched her to huge success, but a curse because the song "One of Us" is not representative of Osborne or her music. She didn't write the song, and sang in a different vocal style than the rest of her album. On Righteous Love her true sound, bluesy rock, is what you'll hear. In the 5 years since her last release Osborne studied with a vocal teacher in India and learned to better use her powerful voice. The results are spectacular. Righteous Love may not have a huge single like "One of Us", but it is a much stronger CD as a whole. It runs the gamut from blues to rock to some beautiful ballads, plus a fun cover of Gary Wright's "Love Is Alive". Righteous Love has been a long time coming, but worth the wait.

Rigby has a large cult following, and hopefully her latest release will bring her talents to the attention to all music fans.

Submarine - Skin Diving

The British trio mixes eclectic samples of everybody from Perry Como to Billie Holliday to Chet Baker with the soulful vocals of Adaesi Ukairo to create a winning combination. Their trip-hop sound can be compared to Massive Attack or Morcheeba, but is still very unique. Skin Diving takes you on a diverse and pleasant musical journey.

Unified Theory - Unified Theory

It's been 5 years since Blind Melon lead singer Shannon Hoon died. Guitarist Christopher Thorn and bassist Brad Smith have teamed up with former Pearl Jam drummer Dave Krusen and lead singer Chris Shinn to form Unified Theory. Their self titled debut CD is not Blind Melon with a new singer. It's a
